Rob Ryan: Let People Live and Work for Lovenskate

Artist Rob Ryan has created artwork for Lovenskate by way of protest to the exponential price of rent in London and how it affects the creative community. Let People Live and Work features Rob’s unmistakeable illustrations and handwritten type, depicting a house facade with sad-faced windows, alongside a statement: “Cap commercial and domestic rents in London.”

“The graphic is a reaction to an ever changing London, its increasing cost and how that’s affecting creatives,” says Lovenskate founder Stu Smith. “Both of us have personally felt the effects of this, having lost our little creative print hub The Mangle.”

The artwork is produced in paper cut, then hand screened on to the skateboards in Lovenskate’s studio in Tottenham, London, and signed by Rob.
